يُعدّ أعظم شاعر عربي على الإطلاق، وُلد في الكوفة بالعراق. يتميز شعره بالقوة والفخر والعمق الفلسفي. لا تزال أبياته في الحكمة والشجاعة وطبيعة الإنسان متداولة في العالم العربي.

Considered the greatest Arab poet of all time, born in Kufa, Iraq. His poetry is known for its strength, pride, and philosophical depth. His verses on wisdom, courage, and human nature remain widely quoted throughout the Arab world.

وَمَنْ يَكُ ذَا فَمٍ مُرٍّ مَرِيضٍ
Whoever has a bitter, sick mouth Will find even sweet water bitter
إِذَا غَامَرْتَ فِي شَرَفٍ مَرُومٍ
If you venture for a lofty honor sought Do not be content with less than the stars
فَطَعْمُ المَوْتِ فِي أَمْرٍ صَغِيرٍ
The taste of death in a small matter Is like the taste of death in a great matter
أَنَا الَّذِي نَظَرَ الأَعْمَى إِلَى أَدَبِي
I am he whose literature the blind have seen And my words have made the deaf to hear
الخَيْلُ وَاللَّيْلُ وَالبَيْدَاءُ تَعْرِفُنِي
The horses, the night, and the desert know me And the sword, the spear, the paper and the pen
ذُو العَقْلِ يَشْقَى فِي النَّعِيمِ بِعَقْلِهِ

وَإِذَا كَانَتِ النُّفُوسُ كِبَارًا
When souls are great Bodies tire in pursuit of their desires
كَفَى بِكَ دَاءً أَنْ تَرَى المَوْتَ شَافِيَا
It is enough sickness that you see death as a cure And enough for deaths that they become wishes
إِذَا رَأَيْتَ نُيُوبَ اللَّيْثِ بَارِزَةً
When you see the lion's fangs showing Do not think that the lion is smiling
لا يَسْلَمُ الشَّرَفُ الرَّفِيعُ مِنَ الأَذَى
High honor is not safe from harm Until blood is shed on its sides
أَعِزَّ مَكَانٍ فِي الدُّنَى سَرْجُ سَابِحٍ
The noblest place in the world is a racing horse's saddle And the best companion in time is a book
إِذَا أَنْتَ أَكْرَمْتَ الكَرِيمَ مَلَكْتَهُ
If you honor the noble you possess him But if you honor the vile he rebels
