وَمَنْ يَجْعَلِ المَعْرُوفَ مِنْ دُونِ عِرْضِهِ
يَفِرْهُ وَمَنْ لا يَتَّقِ الشَّتْمَ يُشْتَمِ
Whoever puts kindness as a shield before his honor preserves it
And whoever does not avoid insult will be insulted
