كاتب عباسي من أصل فارسي، نقل «كليلة ودمنة» من البهلوية إلى العربية وأرسى تقاليد النثر الأدبي العربي. نظم شعر الحكمة إلى جانب مؤلفاته في الأخلاق والسياسة قبل أن يُقتل شابًا.
Persian-born Abbasid prose master who translated Kalila wa Dimna from Pahlavi into Arabic, founding the tradition of literary prose in the language. He composed wisdom poetry alongside his works on ethics and statecraft before his early execution.
