الخليفة الرابع وابن عم النبي ﷺ. عُرف بالبلاغة والحكمة والشجاعة. خطبه في نهج البلاغة قمة البلاغة العربية. يجمع شعره بين الحكمة والروحانية العميقة.

The fourth Caliph and cousin of Prophet Muhammad. Renowned for his eloquence, wisdom, and bravery. His sermons in Nahj al-Balagha are considered pinnacles of Arabic prose. His poetry combines wisdom with deep spirituality.

النَّاسُ نِيَامٌ فَإِذَا مَاتُوا انْتَبَهُوا
People are asleep; when they die, they awaken
مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهُ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ
Whoever knows himself has known his Lord
لا تَسْتَوْحِشْ طَرِيقَ الهُدَى لِقِلَّةِ سَالِكِيهِ
Do not feel lonely on the path of guidance because few walk it
الصَّبْرُ صَبْرَانِ صَبْرٌ عَلَى مَا تَكْرَهُ
Patience is of two kinds: patience over what you dislike And patience away from what you love
العَقْلُ يَوْجِبُ العِبْرَةَ وَالحُمْقُ يُوجِبُ الغَفْلَةَ
Reason demands learning from experience, and folly demands heedlessness
كُنْ لِلْحَرِيصِ عَلَى المَوَدَّةِ دَائِمًا
Be always one who is eager for affection For the noble person gains a friend through loyalty
وَلا تَصْحَبِ الأَرْذَالَ تُحْسَبَ مِنْهُمُ
Do not accompany the vile lest you be counted among them Old wisdom: a person is attributed to…
مَنْ ضَيَّعَ الأَمَانَةَ وَرَضِيَ بِالخِيَانَةِ
Whoever wastes trust and is pleased with betrayal Has disassociated from faith
أَكْثِرْ صَلاتَكَ بِاللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّ العَبْدَ
Increase your prayers at night, for the servant Is closest to his Lord when prostrating
لا تَيْأَسَنَّ وَإِنْ طَالَتْ مُطَالَبَةٌ
Never despair even if the quest is long If you seek help with patience, you will see relief
وَمَا المَالُ وَالأَهْلُونَ إِلَّا وَدَائِعُ
Wealth and family are but trusts And trusts must someday be returned
وَكُنْ مِنَ الفِتَنِ فِي أَوَّلِ غَارَةٍ وَفِي آخِرِهَا حِينَ تَنْجَلِي
In tribulations, be in the first retreat And in the last when they clear
وَكُنْ لِلْمَرْءِ مَعْذِرَةً إِذَا مَا
Make excuses for people when you meet them And find them reasons
إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِلمَرْءِ فِي ذَاتِهِ حُسْنٌ
If a person has no beauty in themselves They have no beauty in all they gather
وَالعِلْمُ يَرْفَعُ بَيْتًا لا عِمَادَ لَهُ
Knowledge raises a house without pillars While ignorance destroys the house of honor and nobility
مَنْ يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ
Whoever fears God, God is with them And whoever God is with succeeds
لَيْسَ مَنْ يَعْلَمُ كَمَنْ لا يَعْلَمُ
One who knows is not like one who does not And darkness is never like light
مَنْ أَصْلَحَ سَرِيرَتَهُ أَصْلَحَ اللهُ عَلانِيَتَهُ
Whoever rectifies their inner self, God rectifies their outward Whoever rectifies what is between…
وَالمَرْءُ يَحْيَا بِذِكْرٍ طَيِّبٍ وَإِنْ مَاتَ
A person lives by good mention even if they die And dies by bad mention while alive
لا تَنْظُرْ إِلَى مَنْ قَالَ وَانْظُرْ إِلَى مَا قَالَ
Do not look at who said it but what was said For perhaps a great word comes from a small one
وَمَنْ وَثِقَ بِاللهِ أَغْنَاهُ
Whoever trusts in God, He enriches them And whoever relies on Him, He suffices them
تَحَمَّلْ مَا لا تَسْتَطِيعُ تَغْيِيرَهُ وَغَيِّرْ مَا تَسْتَطِيعُ تَغْيِيرَهُ
Bear what you cannot change And change what you can change
