فيلسوف وكاتب عباسي من بغداد، لُقّب بـ«فيلسوف الأدباء وأديب الفلاسفة». سجل في كتابه «الإمتاع والمؤانسة» مجالس عصره الأدبية. أُصيب باليأس في آخر حياته ويُروى أنه أحرق كتبه بيده.
Abbasid philosopher and prose stylist of Baghdad, called 'the philosopher of letters and the man of letters of the philosophers.' His al-Imta' wa-l-Mu'anasa records the literary salons of his age. Embittered in old age, he is reported to have burnt his own books.
