شاعر عربي يهودي عُرف بالوفاء. حين طُلب منه تسليم درع امرئ القيس اختار موت ابنه على نقض العهد. صار «أوفى من السموأل» مثلاً عربيًا.
A Jewish Arab poet known for his unwavering loyalty. When asked to betray Imru' al-Qais's armor, he chose his son's death over breaking his word. 'More loyal than al-Samawal' became an Arab proverb.
