يُلقب بـ«صنّاجة العرب» لموسيقية شعره. شاعر جوّاب كان ضريرًا لكنه ذائع الصيت في أرجاء الجزيرة. كاد أن يُسلم لكنه توفي قبل وصوله للنبي.
Known as 'Sannajet al-Arab' (the bell ringer of the Arabs) for his musical poetry. A wandering poet who was nearly blind but famous across Arabia. He nearly embraced Islam but died before reaching the Prophet.

Bid farewell to Huraira, for the caravan is departing

غَرَّاءُ فَرْعَاءُ مَصْقُولٌ عَوَارِضُهَا
Fair, with flowing hair, polished her teeth
She walks gently as one with sore feet walks in mud
وَلا تَحْسَبَنَّ المَجْدَ تَمْرًا أَنْتَ آكِلُهُ
Do not think glory is dates you eat
You will not reach glory until you lick patience
