صحابي علوي من أصحاب الإمام علي بن أبي طالب، يُعدّ المؤسس الأول لعلم النحو العربي. تُنسب إليه أول علامات لضبط القرآن بالنقاط، وله شعر أنيق في الحكمة والسياسة والولاء.
Companion of the caliph Ali ibn Abi Talib and the traditional founder of Arabic grammar. He is credited with introducing the first system of diacritical dots to vocalize the Quran, and composed elegant verse on wisdom, governance and Shi'i loyalty.
